The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters dominated crowd-favorite Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 93-71, in the fourth game day of the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.
Head coach Yeng Guiao's boys pulled off a massive 30-5 second quarter outburst to pull away from the Gin Kings, who sported newcomer Jamie Malonzo.
“Feels good, actually,” said Guiao. “Magandang bawi mula sa talo namin sa NLEX. Malaking isda ‘tong nahuli namin. Mahirap mahuli ‘yung Ginebra sa ganitong sitwasyon — one of their rare bad nights.”

Rain or Shine only led by two points to start the second period, 25-23, before their onslaught began. Taylor and company built a massive 25-point edge entering halftime, 55-28.
It was enough as coach Tim Cone's side never made a rally to come back. The lead even ballooned to as much as 32 points, 87-55, in the final canto.

Two-time Best Import awardee Justin Brownlee paced Ginebra with 20 points, 16 boards, and five assists in almost 45 minutes of action. Malonzo had 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three blocks in his debut game for the Gin Kings. Reigning MVP Scottie Thompson, who sported a new #9 jersey, struggled with only one point on 0-for-4 shooting, but he had 10 boards and two assists.
Meanwhile, the Magnolia Hotshots introduced import Nick Rakocevic with a bang, ousting hard-luck team Terrafirma Dyip, 100-92, in the first game of the afternoon.
Rakocevic did not disappoint in his own debut as the Chicago-native had 45 markers on 17-of-26 shooting. He also grabbed a monstrous 25 rebounds with three blocks, two steals, and two assists.
“Kita naman natin na he plays on both ends of the floor. He contributes in our defensive schemes and our offense. He is very aggressive. 'Yung activity level ‘yung gusto namin sa kanya,” said head coach Chito Victolero, talking about his import.
