Just days after a grueling four-set showdown, the Cool Smashers returned to their dominant form, dismantling Galeries Tower, 25-9, 25-11, 25-15, in a brisk 68-minute masterclass Saturday night at the Capital Arena.
It wasn’t just a win. It was a statement.

The defending champions played with surgical precision, overwhelming the winless Highrisers in every department, from attack efficiency to defensive control. By the time the match hit the halfway mark, it was clear the result was never in doubt.
Import Coco Schwan led the charge with 14 points in limited minutes, while team captain Alyssa Valdez delighted the crowd with 10 markers, including two service aces that brought the packed house to its feet. Rising contributor Rose Vargas added a career-best eight points, while Tots Carlos, Pangs Panaga, and Michele Gumabao chipped in with steady performances off the bench.

“Everyone showed up, everyone contributed — that’s what this team is built on,” Schwan said postgame. “We wanted to bounce back strong, and we did that together.”
The numbers told the story: Creamline dominated in attacks (42-17), blocks (9-4), and aces (6-5). They also capitalized on 18 points off Galeries’ unforced errors, while keeping their own miscues to single digits.
Galeries Tower, on the other hand, struggled to keep pace. Import Jelena Cvijovic was limited to just six points, while Jean Asis and France Ronquillo combined for 12 — the only bright spots in an otherwise forgettable night for the young squad.

Every Creamline rotation looked crisp, every play deliberate. Whether it was Valdez’s leadership, Carlos’ power, or the poise of veterans like Gumabao and Panaga, the Cool Smashers looked every bit the juggernaut that has defined PVL dominance for years.
Coach Sherwin Meneses made full use of his deep bench, giving valuable minutes to his reserves while maintaining championship-level execution.

With the sweep, Creamline improved to 2-1, staying close behind unbeaten leaders ZUS Coffee and Akari in Pool B.
The victory wasn’t just about the standings; it was a reminder that when the Cool Smashers find their rhythm, few, if any, can stand in their way.
