After three heartbreaking losses, Chery Tiggo EV finally found its spark, and it did it in emphatic fashion.

The Crossovers dominated from start to finish, sweeping Galeries Tower, 25-9, 25-16, 25-23, in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.

It was the kind of win the team desperately needed. From the first serve, Chery Tiggo showed no hesitation, executing sharp attacks, digging like their lives depended on it, and playing with the confidence that had been missing in their earlier matches.

The third set was the only real test, with the Highrisers managing to tie things up at 23-all. But Pauline Gaston and Shaya Adorador came through in the clutch. Gaston broke through a block, and Adorador finished the job with a fearless off-the-block hit. Just like that, the Crossovers sealed their long-awaited breakthrough in only 1 hour and 22 minutes.

Import Yuni Batista led the charge with 20 points, while Ara Galang added 11, and Gaston chipped in 10 plus two blocks, earning her Best Player of the Game honors. “We really worked hard for this. There’s still a lot to fix, but what matters is we’re growing and staying together,” Gaston said postgame.

Head coach Norman Miguel praised his team’s renewed composure, especially in the tight third set. “That’s what we’ve been missing, the character to finish strong,” he said.

For Chery Tiggo, this wasn’t just a win on paper; it was a statement. After close defeats to ZUS Coffee, Akari, and Petro Gazz, the Crossovers finally reminded everyone what they’re capable of. Now sitting at 1-3, they’ll carry that confidence into a huge Oct. 28 clash against Creamline, where we’ll see if this momentum can turn into a true comeback run.

Galeries Tower, meanwhile, dropped to 0-4 as their search for a first win continues.
