What’s wild is that this milestone comes right after a tough early exit in Japan, where she bowed out to Czech teen Tereza Valentova.
SPORTS: Alex Eala has reached a new career-high milestone at World No. 53 in the WTA rankings ahead of her Guangzhou Open campaign, despite an early exit in her WTA 250 Kinoshita Group Japan Open stint.

But true to form, Eala’s consistency and strong points haul across recent tournaments kept her ranking on the rise. With 1,131 WTA points, she’s proving that one setback won’t slow her down.

Next stop: Guangzhou Open in China. Alex is pulling double duty, first teaming up with Ukraine’s Nadiia Kichenok in doubles against Tang Qianhui and Emily Appleton, then taking the court solo against American Claire Liu later in the day.
If her recent climb is any sign, Eala’s momentum is just heating up. Eyes on the Top 50, Queen. And the world’s definitely watching.
