At 48 years old, the PBA’s ageless wonder has officially signed with Converge, ensuring that his remarkable career will stretch into a 23rd season. The deal, confirmed Saturday by head coach and Pampanga vice governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, covers one conference with an option to extend for a full year.
For Converge, the signing is both symbolic and strategic. Reavis isn’t just another veteran pickup—he’s a defensive anchor, a locker room presence, and a living example of longevity in Philippine basketball. For fans, it’s a rare chance to keep watching one of the league’s most respected big men continue to lace them up.
Converge has signed 48-year-old 6'8 center Rafi Reavis and 2nd round pick 6'4 wing Kobe Bryan Monje to further add depth to its roster.

Reavis, far and away the oldest player in the PBA, isn't expected to see a lot of minutes but should serve as a mentor to its young big men.
Reavis enters this new chapter after Magnolia, his home for the past 15 years, parted ways with him earlier this offseason. Instead of hanging his sneakers, he chose to prove there’s still some gas left in the tank. In fact, in a candid chat just weeks ago, Reavis made it clear he isn’t ready to walk away.
“I still have that athleticism. I can still move. I’m still strong. I’m still smart. I can still play this game,” he said. “So while I have those abilities, I just don’t want to leave the game yet. I still have some work to do. I’ll know when it’s time—but it’s not now.”

Joining Reavis on Converge’s revamped roster is second-round pick Kobe Monje, who was recently released by his MPBL club Valenzuela. The FiberXers are putting the finishing touches on their Philippine Cup lineup, and the mix of youth and experience could be exactly what the squad needs to make noise this season.
Meanwhile, the FiberXers are already turning heads in preseason action. They notched their fourth straight tune-up victory on Saturday, overpowering defending Philippine Cup champions San Miguel Beermen, 114-99, at the Gatorade Hoops Center. Converge has also notched wins against Meralco, Blackwater, and NLEX, building early confidence heading into the grind of the regular season.
For Converge fans, the addition of Reavis feels like both a safety net and a statement. And for the rest of the league? It’s a reminder that the PBA’s “Iron Man” isn’t done yet.
Season 50 just got more interesting.
