Quentin Millora-Brown, the 25-year-old big man who helped power the UP Fighting Maroons to a UAAP championship last season, is expected to join the national squad for the November window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
Head coach Tim Cone confirmed the development during PBA Media Day, noting that Gilas has already been in constant communication with Millora-Brown’s camp. Even before he sets foot in practice, the 6-foot-10 center is being immersed in Cone’s triangle offense system.

“He’s already working with Patrick Partosa, our analytics and video guy,” Cone shared. “We’re sending him clips and play breakdowns so he can get a head start. He’s very eager and excited to be part of Gilas this November.”
Currently in Japan, Millora-Brown has yet to finalize a club deal in the B.League, but his focus on integrating with the national program is clear. His addition injects both size and youth into a Gilas frontline that already boasts June Mar Fajardo, AJ Edu, and Kai Sotto — should Sotto recover in time from his ACL injury.

The Philippines will open its qualifying campaign on the road against Guam on November 28, before hosting the return fixture at home on December 1. Cone acknowledged that roster decisions remain fluid, especially with Sotto’s availability still uncertain.
“At this stage, it’s all about additions,” Cone said. “We’re not taking anyone out yet. We’ll make those tough decisions closer to November when we finalize the 12-man lineup.”
For Gilas fans, Millora-Brown’s entry signals both continuity and evolution. His energy and versatility around the rim fit seamlessly with Cone’s system, while his international background gives the team another reliable option in a critical qualifying stretch.

With the national program determined to reestablish itself as a force in Asia, the timing couldn’t be better. The mix of established veterans and younger big men offers Cone the kind of flexibility every coach dreams of heading into a long international grind.
One thing is certain: the arrival of Quentin Millora-Brown gives Gilas Pilipinas another weapon in its arsenal — and raises hopes that the November window will mark the beginning of something special.
