According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Sacramento Kings have shown interest in the 29-year-old former All-Star.
"League sources say that the Suns have also had some recent dialogue with former All-Star Ben Simmons, who I’m told has drawn interest since free agency began from Boston, New York and Sacramento,” Stein reported.
"From what I tapped in and heard was, it's nothing against him, just not a fit for what they're looking for."@CarmichaelDave shares what he has heard regarding the Sacramento Kings' link to free agent Ben Simmons: pic.twitter.com/h01oCXjzzd

Simmons split last season between the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. After being bought out by Brooklyn in early February, he signed with the Clippers just two days later. Across both teams, he appeared in 51 games and averaged 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists, while shooting 52.0% from the floor and 72.7% from the free-throw line.
A former No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Simmons had a strong start to his career with the Philadelphia 76ers, earning three All-Star selections, two All-Defensive nods, and a spot on the All-NBA team.

But his career took a turn during the 2021 postseason, where his offensive struggles and confidence issues came under the spotlight. Following a rocky relationship with the Sixers and battles with mental health and a lingering back injury, Simmons requested a trade. He was eventually dealt to the Nets in exchange for James Harden.
